Reminder: Friday, June 5: Last Day of School & Field Day
Friday is the last day of school and will be a Minimum Day for all students.
Our annual Field Day will take place from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, providing students with a fun-filled morning of games and activities as we celebrate a successful and memorable school year together.
As a reminder, family members who have current volunteer clearance on file with the school (including those approved for field trips or classroom volunteering) are invited to join us and help supervise activity stations throughout Field Day. Volunteer opportunities include:
Set-Up: 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Activities: 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Clean-Up: 12:00-12:30 p.m.

As we wrap up another school year, we want to personally thank our families for your continued support and involvement. The success of our students is made possible through the strong connection between home and school, and we are grateful for the many ways you have supported our students, staff, and school community throughout the year.
We look forward to celebrating a wonderful final day of school on Friday and wish all of our families a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer break.
Looking Ahead to the 2026–2027 School Year
Our first day of school will be Wednesday, August 12. School will start at 8:30am.
Please remember that all students are required to complete the annual re-enrollment process to ensure we have the most current enrollment and information on file.

As we wrap up another wonderful school year at Dehesa, we wanted to share a few important reminders for this busy and exciting final week!
Wednesday, June 3
Wednesday will be a Minimum Day with a 1:30 p.m. dismissal for all students.
We will also be celebrating two special events:
Kindergarten Graduation: 9:00 a.m.
8th Grade Promotion Ceremony: 11:00 a.m.

ELOP This Week
There is no change to the ELOP hours for this week for those families registered for the regular school year program. AM ELOP opens at 7:30am each morning, while afternoon ELOP is available until 4:30pm each day through Friday, June 5th.

Awards Assemblies on Thursday, May 28th!
As a reminder, the school awards assemblies will be held on Thursday, May 28th here at Dehesa. Notices were sent home previously to families regarding the upcoming Awards Assembly, as well as reminders from teachers to the parents of student award recipients (if you are unsure, please reach out to your classroom teacher).
Parking will be available across the street in the parking lot on Sloane Canyon Road, with the Dehesa bus providing transportation back and forth throughout the morning for families (please wait in that parking lot for the bus, as pedestrians should not cross Dehesa Road on foot).
There will be a sign in sheet by class available at the auditorium for individuals to sign in that are on campus for the assembly.

We are excited to invite families to Dehesa’s first Art Show tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27! Student artwork from every class will be on display as we celebrate the creativity and talent of our Dehesa students. Families are welcome to join us on campus to view the art show and enjoy lunch with their student(s) during the times listed below.
Families will be able to check in at a sign in sheet at the lunch area.

Dehesa Method Sports Academy (DMSA) is excited to host a joint Open House to share updates and information about the two educational programs that make up DMSA:
• Dehesa Sports Academy (1st–5th Grade)
• Method Summit Academy (6th–8th Grade)
We invite families to join us on Thursday, May 21st at 4:30 in the Dehesa Library to learn more about each program, including schedules, sports opportunities, and what makes DMSA unique. This will also be a great opportunity to ask questions and connect with staff.

Bonus Wednesday Camp Preview!
Mrs. James had the opportunity to visit 6th Grade Camp today and got a look into all of the fun, teamwork, and memories being made! 🏕️
During her visit, students worked together during lunchtime by taking on responsibilities like table runner, setting the tables, and helping clean up afterward. She also saw the students arts & crafts activity, where students worked to make a special souvenir of their choice to bring home before they headed off to recess break.
It was a beautiful afternoon filled with laughter, teamwork, friendship, and unforgettable camp memories. Can’t wait to share even more highlights from camp!

6th grade camp, day 2!
We have quite a fun update for you from the Tuesday adventures!
So far, students have been having an amazing time with lots of fun activities. Yesterday was especially wild due to it being very cold and very rainy!
We started off the day with breakfast at 7am. Students had french toast, sausage, and cereal! After this, students met with both Ms. Cadenhead and Ms. Cornell for a morning check in. Students shared how they were feeling about camp so far on slips for teachers to read.
After our breakfast and check-in, our day of fun began! Some students began the day with WRAP (Wilderness Recreation Activities Program) rotations! These rotations included archery, geocaching, and a game called Toxic River Challenge (which is similar to the floor is lava). Some activities got brought inside throughout the day due to the rain, but we started it in wild weather!
If students weren’t at WRAP, they were on a 2 and a half hour exploration hike! Students expressed how fun this walk was. They loved getting to learn while hiking!
After dinner, at the end of the day, students played a wilderness board game and learned how to make fire! Students got very into this and got extremely excited when their wood started to make smoke.
We are looking forward to having no rain today for our craft day! We will message tomorrow with more updates. :)
