Bonus Wednesday Camp Preview! Mrs. James had the opportunity to visit 6th Grade Camp today and got a look into all of the fun, teamwork, and memories being made! 🏕️ During her visit, students worked together during lunchtime by taking on responsibilities like table runner, setting the tables, and helping clean up afterward. She also saw the students arts & crafts activity, where students worked to make a special souvenir of their choice to bring home before they headed off to recess break. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with laughter, teamwork, friendship, and unforgettable camp memories. Can’t wait to share even more highlights from camp!

✨ Staff Appreciation Week is here! ✨

This week,May 4–8, we’re celebrating the incredible teachers and staff who make Dehesa such a special place to learn and grow each day. From our teachers and instructional aides to our bus drivers, office staff, custodial crew, and everyone in between, we are so grateful for the care, dedication, and support they give to our students all year long.

This week, we invite our students and families to help us celebrate the amazing Dehesa team by sharing kind words, handmade cards, small notes, or thoughtful gestures of appreciation throughout the week. A little gratitude goes a long way in showing our staff just how much they are valued! 🍎✏️💌

6th grade camp, day 2!

We have quite a fun update for you from the Tuesday adventures!

So far, students have been having an amazing time with lots of fun activities. Yesterday was especially wild due to it being very cold and very rainy!

We started off the day with breakfast at 7am. Students had french toast, sausage, and cereal! After this, students met with both Ms. Cadenhead and Ms. Cornell for a morning check in. Students shared how they were feeling about camp so far on slips for teachers to read.


After our breakfast and check-in, our day of fun began! Some students began the day with WRAP (Wilderness Recreation Activities Program) rotations! These rotations included archery, geocaching, and a game called Toxic River Challenge (which is similar to the floor is lava). Some activities got brought inside throughout the day due to the rain, but we started it in wild weather!


If students weren’t at WRAP, they were on a 2 and a half hour exploration hike! Students expressed how fun this walk was. They loved getting to learn while hiking!


After dinner, at the end of the day, students played a wilderness board game and learned how to make fire! Students got very into this and got extremely excited when their wood started to make smoke.


We are looking forward to having no rain today for our craft day! We will message tomorrow with more updates. :)
