GATE

NEU Dehesa Logo "Gate"

Dehesa GATE students are supported in their classrooms through individualized goals, project based learning, technology, and the application of teaching strategies that use multiple intelligences and Bloom’s Taxonomy.  We are also fortunate to have Learning Upgrade which allows all students to work at their own pace and level in math and reading.

In addition to the support in the classroom, Dehesa’s 3rd-5th grade GATE students are invited to attend classes after school on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:30pm. Ms. Guzman works with the students to find common interests with the group and/or  a theme to construct year-long projects that support high-level thinking. Each year, their area of concentration is different. At the end of the school year, the students showcase their work at an all school event.
